Our Current Releases
Because our title list has grown so much we are only updating the Bookstore .
Our books can now be found on barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com and even as eBooks for Amazon Kindle, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble Nook. See the bookstore for more information. Our five most popular titles can be ordered through your favorite local bookseller, too.
Lulu is no longer our primary distributor, however we maintain a presence on the site because they offer hardcovers whereas our current primary distribution outlet does not. So please know that we only use LULU for initial title releases and HARDCOVERS.
As of September 2011, Lulu will no longer carry music CD’s or DVD’s. You can get those directly (via Paypal or Google Checkout) from swordarkeereon@gmail.com. Contact that email address for details.

About DB Publishing and The Demonolatry Book Source Project
The Demonolatry Book Source Project was started in Spring 2005 by members of Ordo Flammeus Serpens in order to make otherwise difficult information about Demonolatry easy to find and available to the masses. It started with the re-release of S. Connolly’s Modern Demonolatry. Since then, we have gotten in the habit of releasing 1-2 new items a year. In May of 2006, DB Publishing became the occult/religion/spirituality imprint for Darkerwood Publishing Group.
Distribution- We initially chose Lulu’s POD service to print our books because DB Publishing was (in its early years) a volunteer operation and Lulu required no out-of-pocket expense. Our cover artists and editors pretty much worked for free for a lot of years. The only people who got paid were our authors. However – this has changed in recent years. We have moved over to a larger distribution and printing service and now our editors, and cover artists get paid, too. So if you’re an artist or an editor and you’d like a chance to work on any of our projects, let us know. Most projects only pay $100 per edited MS and $50 per cover. We know it’s not a lot, but it is better than working for free. We know.
So while DB Publishing has finally gotten to a point where it is self-sustaining, we still utilize Lulu for hardcovers and private texts (because of convenience). Otherwise – the bulk of our books can be ordered via Amazon or from your favorite bookstores (both online and off). Many of our titles are also available as eBooks.
In October 2011 we unveiled Official Melissa Press. The limited edition hardcover arm of DB Publishing. Our first release was Infernal Colopatiron.
We always welcome ideas from our readers and fellow brethren regarding the type of books you would find useful, helpful, and invaluable. So please write to us! Your input helps us choose the authors and titles that Demonolators want!
WRITERS GUIDELINES:
We publish books about Demonolatry by Demonolators™. We will look at both proposals and full manuscripts. Please check to see what we’ve published before sending us a proposal or MS.
A proposal includes: A brief synopsis of what the book is about, a chapter by chapter outline of what the book covers, and a sample first chapter. If the book is finished, we would like to know the word count. If the book is unfinished, we will need to know when the book will be completed.
We’re always looking for books about:
-
The History of Demonolatry
-
Prayer and Invocation Books
- Ritual Books
- Study Guides and Workbooks
- Books about Daemons or Daemonic Magick
Send your book proposals (or MS) to darkerwoodpublishing @ gmail . com (remove spaces).
Additional Author Info: We do offer author friendly contracts. This means we only ask for the rights we need to publish your book. This usually means first North American, U.K. and Canadian paperback printing rights and first eBook rights for the U.S., U.K., and Germany. We won’t ask for hardcover rights if we’re not printing hardcovers etc… Once we cease publication of your book(s) those rights immediately revert back to you. We’re not in the business of stealing author copyrights or trying to take advantage of our authors like some publishers try to do. We’re also not going to backlist your book(s) for years and years like some publishers might.
Either the author (or the publisher if we need to) can pull the book(s) from publication with DB Publishing any time after the book as earned out our expenses, all advances, or after a year (whichever comes first) so long as the author or publisher gives the other party 30 days advance notice. This means that if either of us is unhappy with our working relationship or the book in any way – the author has the right to dissolve the contract after our expenses are re-cooperated and the publisher can dissolve the contract at any time, at which time all rights revert back to the author. However – please note cover art, ISBNs, and all interior files still belong to us. So you can’t use our files or ISBN to republish your work with another publisher. You would need to reformat the book, get your own ISBN, and find new cover art.
What we pay: We pay a minimum of 2 author copies + $1 per book sold in royalties and pay our authors quarterly via Paypal ONLY. Books over 200 pages can make up to $2 per book sold. On rare occasions we’ll even offer advances up to $100 (depending on the work and the author). Please know that many of our titles have not sold more than 200 copies. You will not get rich writing Demonolatry books. It really is a labor of love.
Please note – we do expect our authors to market themselves and we do not guarantee bookstore shelf space. However, we do provide distribution (not for chapbooks) and a great deal of online and word-of-mouth advertising. If you want to do booksignings – you’ll have to set them up. Authors can buy their own books at wholesale (usually for well under $5 a copy depending on the number of pages and whether it’s B&W or color) if they need to.
