ALCHEMY LAB I – Self Directed Learning Course

In this course you’ll learn basic, hands-on herbal alchemy through a series of at-home experiments (you will be required to acquire your own supplies), and readings. Online classroom will give students the ability to interact with fellow students and the instructor regarding experiments and readings, The Emerald Tablet, spiritual alchemy, spagyrics, desiccation, putrification, and ultimately the philosopher’s stone. This is a course very suitable for beginners to practical laboratory alchemy, or those who want to brush up, and is geared toward experienced practitioners of Daemonolatry.
The instructor will be available to you via email 24/7. Certificates can only be earned by doing the work. This course is designed to take 5 weeks to complete but can be completed in less time. Taking pictures of your experiments in progress will be expected. There will be quizzes on the readings and lab write-ups (yes, papers) due once a week. You really do need access to both a computer and a digital camera in order to take this course. This course is estimated to take between 2-5 hours a week.
This course is offered through the Temple Thoth-Seshat (TTS), and participants who complete the course to the instructor’s satisfaction will be given a certificate of completion through TTS for “Alchemy Lab I”.

You will need the following to conduct the experiments:
- Alcohol (either rum or Vodka)
- Lemon Balm (Melissa Offinalis)
- Clary Sage (Salvia Sclaria)
- Benzoin (Styrax benzoin)
- One dropper
- Cheesecloth
- Tinfoil
- Funnel
- Test Tube w/stopper
- One glass lab stir stick
- 3 glass jar w/lid
- 1 Clear Glass Dram Vial
- 1 Amber Dropper Bottle (1/2 oz)
- 1 Amber Boston Round (1/2 oz)
- Mortar & Pestle
