Last year, I was told a big change was coming. I panicked initially, but then realized I wanted the change. Nonetheless, I found myself in limbo, waiting. Unable to do anything or make a single move until circumstances outside my control told me where my life was heading. I grew complacent in that state of limbo for almost a year, and then – wham! It happened and I found myself with 2-3 months to get my shit in order.
Life has this sneaky way of throwing curveballs at us just when we think we’ve got it all figured out, or we grow comfortable where we are. One minute you’re coasting along, and the next, you’re staring down the barrel of a big life change. Maybe it’s the arrival of a new baby, a sudden career shift, moving to a new city, or even something as bittersweet as retirement or divorce. It’s messy, it’s overwhelming, and it’s totally normal to feel like the ground has been ripped out from under you. But here’s the thing: these moments, as terrifying as they are, are also where real transformation happens. And for those of us who walk the Daemonolatry path, we know we’re not alone in the chaos.
Let’s talk about the death Daemonic for a minute—those powerful forces that embody endings, transitions, and the mysteries beyond the veil. Names like Eurynomous, Bune, Baalberith, Murmur, and even Hecate come to mind. The Daemonic forces aren’t just about literal death; they’re about the cycles of life, the necessary endings that make way for new beginnings. When major change barges into your life, working with these Daemons can be a game-changer. They’re the ultimate guides through the darkness, helping you shed what no longer serves you and step into your next chapter with intention. They can help you grieve your losses.
One thing I’ve learned over the years about major life change, for me at least, is the trick is not to resist the change, but to lean into it, even when it feels like everything is falling apart. Accept it. Welcome it. You’ll still be scared. You’ll still feel uncertain. However – there will also be a sense of excitement.
